Description
Then came the peacocks, or peafowl, as they are more correctly known.
So very many peacocks (um: peafowl) – traipsing across the grounds; ascending and descending stairwells; preening in the sitting rooms, ruffling through the library; perching on windowsills; roosting on the roof; wandering the halls…
And, of course: making an intensely unsettling racket with their calls, night and day.
First one, or two, appeared…and then there were so very many…more and more by the hour.
The manor had become overrun with these resplendent, noisy beasts.
Fingers were pointed, nerves frayed. Much blame was flung about…as no one would take responsibility for the sudden infestation. There was no accountability for who had opened – wide – the peacock portal…

| Creation Story | The Peacock Saga is a story that unfolded in vignettes, originally with collaged drawings. The 2024 illustrated version is an update to this tale of intrigue. Not quite a graphic novel, more like an illustrated children's chapter book. In it, we enter an alternate univese, where ghosts and other-worldlies co-mingle, in a b&b for such beings….and then the peacocks arrive…and even an otherworldy world is turned upside down. |
