Origin Story – from a raw 20 line prose study, she later became a cardboard and paper puppet and acquired various tools.
The study:
Tiki Girl arrived the other morning.
She lives on an island, somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, I think.
She has a tiki temple she tends;
She’s a priestess on that isle, floating in that gorgeoous sea.
She is mighty-skilled, Tiki Girl.
She can scale tall trees (coonut trees?!?) in no time at all.
She can hunt and she can gather.
She makes her own tools, in her abundant paradise.
She dances, too — throughout the day, when she is moved.
She is beauty and she is strength.
I don’t know her name yet, only that she is a smiling priestess on that island,
and she arrived the other day.
~ Carli Castellani (written in 2015, after a vision of Tiki Girl woke me up that morning)
And here, she is seen from her participation in a “Halloween in July” prompt challenge from 2023:
“Tiki Girl arriving at the gates of hell, wondering if she’s late for Lucifer’s Luau”. (Lucifer Luau prompt) ~
